Each Restylane product is a type of hyaluronic acid dermal filler. They are a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid and have been designed to mimic your body’s own hyaluronic acid. Each version has been designed to fit a specific need.

There are several types of dermal fillers, but Restylane uses hyaluronic acid to achieve these results. Hyaluronic acids are sugars that are naturally found in the skin. They provide fullness, hydration, and elasticity.

On average treatments last six to nine months. Some treatments can last up to 18 months, depending on the brand being used and the area being treated. The general lengths for brands are:

– Restylane Silk – 6 Months
– Restylane Lyft – 12 months
– Restylane – 18 months
– Restylane Refyne: 12 months
– Restylane Defyne: 12 months

Generally, it takes about an hour for your treatment to be completed, and you should see results almost immediately. Depending on the area being treated, you’ll see volume added to the treatment area and the wrinkles begin to fade.

Some patients may experience swelling, pain, redness, bruising, headaches, tenderness, itching, and lump formation at the injection site. If your hand is being treated, you also may experience some hand impairment. Generally, these symptoms should be mild and last less than 7 to 14 days, depending on the area being treated. Please contact us if your symptoms are severe or last longer than two weeks.

In most cases, you will see the results you want in about one or two sessions. However, depending on your body’s chemistry, a maintenance schedule will be needed to maintain results. You will talk with our doctors one on one to find a schedule that works for you.
